Things here have been going
great! It was awesome to have spent a half a day with Gomez when we were
waiting for the transfer van to come back down. My new companion
is Hermana Rathfon. She is from southern Indy. Gomez just finished
training her and I am her second comp. She has been great.
The Chavez's were not able
to be baptized this past Saturday. He had a good interview with one of the Zone
leaders. He will have another interview with the same zone leader this upcoming
Friday. They have a new baptismal date for June 23. The whole family wanted to
wait and be baptized together.
Brenda is doing great. We
just finished teaching her all of the lesson. All she needs to do is come to
church one more time and then get married. We asked if she wanted to move her
baptismal date back to give her more time to get married. She didn't want to
because she doesn't want to wait any longer to be baptized. We know she has
been working on her boyfriend to get married. He is being a little stubborn
because he really wants to get married on Feb 14th. Poor guy, he is just a
romantic.
One of investigators named
Blonca gave us a referral for her friend named Silvia. As soon as she gave us
the referral we followed Blonca to Slivia's house so we could meet her. Slivia
is awesome and is super ready to learn. Everything we tell her she soaks it up.
But here is the thing, she knows nothing about Christ. Only that he was someone
that is important and he died for her and she should pray to him. We have to
take everything really slow with her. I have never really taught anyone without
any kind of background in religion. So Hermana Rathfon and I have been
studying Preach my Gospel to find out the best way to teach her.
